about me

God has been doing some serious work on my heart lately. He's teaching me and convicting me on the areas of my life that are not focused on Him or even pleasing to Him. As a stay at home mom, my circle of influence is smaller than some. Most of my days are spent at home, nurturing two wonderful little girls. However, God has placed certain people in my life who have been kind enough to tell me what an encouragement me blogging at Keeping Up with the Kloven's has been to them. I've struggled with blogging though. I've found that it's very hard for me to dedicate myself into writing and focusing on my family with the occasional focus on the Heavenly Father.

I've felt the conviction to continue blogging, as it makes my circle of influence much greater, reaching much more than what I come in contact with on a daily basis. I've wrestled with this idea in my heart for a long time because I feel so inadequate to speak about the Lord as if I'm some sort of teacher, scholar, perfect person (whatever you have it.) I am none of these things, just an ordinary woman who is responding to God who so graciously has reached out to me and who is now pushing me for more. Thank you, Father. This blog, A Mind on Things Above will be just that of Colossians 3:2..."Set your mind on things above, not on earthly things."

I know many of you enjoy reading about and seeing our family. A Mind on Things Above will be about our family or about me and things the Lord is working on in me. However, the focus will always be upon my gracious and Holy Father.

He is the only thing I can find purpose in. I hope that you will be encouraged by this place. I hope that you might find others to share this blog with so more may come to know the Creator of all. Let's all learn and grow together.  Jesus is coming very soon.
